Didn’t even say adieu…(NaBloPoMo Post 18)

May 23, 2009

The question keeps racing in my mind,

Why, oh why did you hurt me?

I cannot fathom the reason,

For leaving me in a tearful sea.

I am not angry,

I don’t for one second regret

The day I saw you,

The glorious day we met.

The distance between us,

I do not lament.

For I can still see you,

I can still feel your scent.

The one thing that bothers me,

Is that I cannot think through,

Why you hurt me,

And didn’t even say adieu.

    Hi Neha,
I have the same questions to him. Until now, I still don’t know the answer for almost 2 decades now. But he’s still in my heart.
    Thanks for the poem.

    Why lament itna??
Let bygones be bygones move fwd…
I can understand what u feel been there and done that, but there is no point lamenting over it…

I get what you are saying. But if you read closely, the poem in fact says there is no lament, but confusion. The poem talks about these feelings.

Exactly my point its not worth pondering over in the first place. It didn’t last, so it doesn’t has a future and since it doesn’t has a future it shud not consume any time, emotion or moments of ur future life.

Agreed. Practicality avers with what you are saying. But feelings often don’t.And hence the poem. Poetry seldom talks about practicality 🙂 (the poem does not necessarily say what i feel)

Ahhh well thats where I completely agree…as a matter of fact there was one I wrote when i faced the same situation but then I gen have good control over my emotions, hence hangover from the relationship didnt last too long.
This is what I wrote in my days of whatever u wanna call it….
